Military TACAN Route Frequencies

Postby Off Airways » Sun Dec 03, 2017 1:14 pm

Hi folk

First posting on this forum and hope my request is successful.

I'm a dedicated follower of military traffic (mainly UHF) over East Anglia.

Almost daily military traffic (mainly transports) use the main tacan route TR1 which basically runs NE from the Bristol Channel to overhead RAF Marham then E to SE to the Dutch/Belgique border.

Again more often than not the transports going west will use civil frequencies from the lower North Sea then as they pick up the TR1 route switch to London Mil freqs??

Ones going East I can only presume come off Oceanic HF then call London Mil ??

The question is ... does ANYONE know the common freqs for London Mil TR1 traffic

Many thanks in great anticipation

John

Thanks for your reply - Sadly though none of these freqs are used for the Tacan route TR1 as far as I'm aware.

By the mere fact they are ICF's they will not be used. In my 38+ years of flying military and the last 18 years on "Heavies" we would never use an ICF unless climbing out of Low Level. It would be an "Internal" frequency handover from one radar unit to another.

Unfortunately in all my flying and being UK based we never used the TR's ... hence the reason I'm asking.

Thanks

John

I monitor the ICF freqs whenever I can, and have often heard aircraft routed VLN - BZN - MAM - NAVPI.
If it wasn't ICF freqs must have been secondary freqs, I'll pay more attention to which and let you know …
SW
231.825
282.5
372.675
Central
251.475
341.675
East
233.725
252.975
261.35
269.475
275.65

Now that's appreciated

Look forward to pinning flights/sightings to freqs now.

Best wishes
