Nothing strange at all sharers of planeplotter are submitting data that shows them on FR24, and also AIS webistes.

Please be gentle with me --- my first post!

I am a lapsed SAR Watcher and have lost track of recent happenings regarding the demise of 771 at Culdrose and the introduction of Bristow.

I live close to Newquay so approach and tower are easy. I have found some Bristow ops freqs so will scan those. Does anyone know the call signs of the assets at Newquay? I guess it Helo XXX becoming Rescue XXX when on call? Using 5.680?

Also which of the PC based plotters work with the SAR helos please?

I have searched so it isn't laziness, just would like confirmation please.

Thank you

Newquay SAR are using COASTGUARD 924/925 on training missions, and RESCUE 924/925 on SAR operations. They show on Planefinder and AIS websites.

Any York based listeners on here ?
there has been a Britows S-92 numerous times recently over York - I tried all the old SAR freqs cos I was not aware of the Bristow freqs.
Thanks for the information here

You may also hear them use their registration marks.

G-MCGZ is one of the Newquay helis.

So it may sometimes use "Coastguard Golf Zulu"

And monitor 419.1125 MHz FM for any use of 'Polycon' onboard intercomm
I reserve the right to ignore people who have made no attempt to the read the manual, and expect others to do it for them.

Also have a look at
http://www.flightradar24.com/53.06,0.74/7

They sometimes show up on there.
I find the best option with Flight radar is click on the helicopter & then highlight the callsign, right click & then click on google (callsign.)
But sometimes there is no need to google anything. Recently I was watching Police 19 over Humberside..

Edited to add New Years eve just before midnight there were only half a dozen aircraft over the whole of England & the only aircraft in the London area were 3 helicopters, Google showed each to be involved in film work, one on contract to the BBC.
Currently a Coastgurd helicopter is active off Brighton, but it is registered to Bristow. But Google is showing several photo's & information of it as a Coastguard helicopter. But CG104 (Coast Guard 104) is also active in the Solent (Isle of Wight area.)

Bristow own and operate helicopters on behalf of the Coastguard.
