People partying on security frequency

Postby BobbyObby93 » Sat Jan 02, 2016 6:15 pm

Having a rather odd week with the radio.

Trying to rebuild my frequency database again after losing my 2013 directory somewhere in the house. Thankfully ordered the 2015 directory. Anyway, I had the frequency 453.025 FM programmed into my radio from previous directory. It was the Belfast crime frequency which is what I had labelled it as. It has not been as active at all past few months, so I assume they maybe switched to a different technology. However, on New Years Eve there were people on that channel who were partying from the sounds of it. A young girl shouting " yeeooo" :shocker: and well, I don't think that seems right for an anti-crime channel lol.

Anybody any experience with this frequency? I have not picked a single broadcast on it since the other night.

Cheers

No it's a Radioshack Pro-97 scanner that I owned in the USA. I had programmed that frequency into the scanner myself about 2 years ago. Listed as security for Belfast Castlecourt.

Sorry I meant the activity on 453.025. That kind of behaviour sounds like some clown who has spent £20 on a ebay special & who thus lacks the ability to do anything but switch the radio on & press the PTT.

I'll try to remember to have a listen when I'm at work - Castlecourt isn't far from the opera house where I am until the 10th.

Perhaps too early to comment properly, but not a peep on that channel all day - and Castlecourt was open!

Norwich City Council did have a licence & radios, but these were only really used for events such as Lord Mayors parade etc. They also get loaned out to groups City Council were supporting. A group I was involved in had a loan of those & some TA radios for an event I was involved in planning.
The above frequency for Glasgow dates back to 2013, so it could be that it no longer exists. But it could also be a occasional use frequency.

I had it running on the frequency on Saturday, Sunday and also whilst working today and not a noise at all. I know it use to be active as I enjoyed listening to the security control talking about the shoplifters and the dodgy people causing trouble in Belfast. There is another frequency I have for Belfast that is security. I believe it is for Victoria Square. Will have to look it out later after work.

Here is the frequency I mentioned in above post. I believe this is security of some sort in Belfast city center.

453.7750 fm (Dec 31st active - Belfast crime?)
