160.4625 should be paired with the stronger 164.9625. do you get anything on 164.9625 ?

Pitchers Nightclub, Irvine, 462.125, tone 69.3. I have also heard children using it during the day.

I think they are using Baofeng 888's or similar, there are frequencies like that pre-programmed in.

Thank you for that. I wrote them down on a piece of paper a while ago when I was asked to reprogramme a handful of radios. I have mislaid it.

Heard here but possibly used nationally, railway engineers, possibly Network Rail, 449.400, DCS 026. I heard them just as they were finishing off a job. I didn't get to see the train which might have given away the user, but then locos and wagons can be hired out to other train operating companies.

Andrew

Shunting or Engineering Works.

If you have an exact time and location should be easy to a search of one of the real time sites to see who was in the area at the time.

GBRf and Colas use UKG but unusual tone. Can you hear the fuel train to Prestwick Apt from your location?

It was engineering. The nearest shunting goes on in Barassie about 3 miles away. EWS are using 446 channel 1 on 94.8, Freightliner were using channel 6 on 79.9 and channel 8 on DCS754, but I haven't heard them for a while. The Ayr line is seeing extra freight on it because of the West Coast situation.

Those trains unable to go via Mauchline have to have the engines run round their loads at the FHH sidings in Barassie.

There is also the paper mill trains which use 453.550 on 127.3 while maneuvering.
