Glasgow Central

Postby AndrewIrvine » Wed Nov 16, 2016 12:08 pm

When passing through this morning I heard station staff, possibly passenger assistance, on a close call hit of 459.275, which pairs up with 453.225. It was on a tone of 123.0. Has anyone else heard this or is there anyone close enough to hear it.

Central is managed by Network Rail.

ScotRail staff still use 453.900 / 110.9.

Andrew

Assume 459.275 is a typo for 459.725 for which Abellio Scotrail have a licence, call sign "Central" so nice find.

453.900/460.400 is Network Rail not Scotrail.

As a matter of interest did a search on 459.275 which is a single (simplex) pager frequency. WTR shows that Virgin Trains have a licence for this at Polmadie Depot.

Sorry, yes, I got the 2 and 7 the wrong way round in the input.

I know Network Rail use 453.900, but the call signs in the station start 'ScotRail', even though in Central it is Network Rail who manage the station. Nearby Queen Street is ScotRail managed and on 453.550 (tone 110.9) I'll be in Central tomorrow morning, I'll listen in again.

Central is 453.900 on 82.5.

I only hear one user on it today, going from platform 4 to the top of 14. I'll try again on Saturday next week when it might be busier. I was kind of hoping there would be someone closer to hand who could listen out. I live 30 miles form Glasgow and don't visit often. I'm currently on a mission to Morecambe.
