I have heard some rumours that the MRTs are testing digital radios but not having much success, anyone know anything about what they are using?

I don't think they are using Airwave.

I have read that they are going the dmr tier 2 standard and have seen a Scottish mrt facebook page a few days ago saying they are testing. I think they may be using simoco like what the England and Wales mrt teams are getting

OK

Any idea of frequencies, not that it will be of any use!

Land SAR is supposedly now in the bands 155.775 to 155.975 and 147.35 to 147.4875
I suspect 155.975 is a 25kHz channel, so 155.9625 is not used.

There was some activity on 155.35 at the weekend, but it was encrypted so I don't know what it was.
155.35 is used by MRT is Scotland (:91/:94), so may not be relevant at all.
