The Maplin N types are dreadful and the very last connector I would buy - so unless in an emergency, like last week, mail order decent ones - Greenpar, and RS components own brand ones are excellent, and even show you how much cable to trim off. They also feature the top hat that slips under the braid, and then gets compressed when tightened up. The Maplin ones leave you to guess and will allow the centre pin to sit too far in or out. The clamp is poor and the sealing iffy. The centre pin also doesn't have the usual side hole for capilliary soldering meaning you need to leave too much copper showing to get the solder in. As I said, emergency use only. The small and large cable types are both poorly designed.
