Uniden BCT15X - Guide for using in UK

Postby M3TSY » Thu Sep 18, 2014 6:45 pm

A video step by step guide for using The Uniden BCT15X Scanner in The UK. The scanner is a great receiver but it comes with the preset USA settings on out of the box. This video shows you how to remove the default American settings and then program your systems and groups to enter frequencies into. It also has a look at the close call feature, searching and the band scope feature.

Fantastic guide, really useful. Is there any possibility that you could do another video in dome more features such as scanning parameters taking a scanned freq and saving it into a system group etc. just a bit more in depth. That was great for getting me started. Cheers

I bought mine from a UK company who don't sell them anymore as far as I know, and I wouldn't have recommended them if they did….
It's no big deal buying things from the States (I've used scannermaster.com for other equipment) you just pay any tax due to the receiving company in the UK, which you can do online.
Only think to be aware of is that is it ever needs repairing, the postage will cost more than if you buy in the UK.

And look at getting the GPS unit (and the remote head unit if still available) if you intend to use it the car.

Also to answer another question, it's the same model, there's no European/International version of the BCT15X.
I reserve the right to ignore people who have made no attempt to the read the manual, and expect others to do it for them.

I always thought my bct-ubc-800xlt was the european model of the bct-15x but it doesn't have the bandscope feature and a few other differences so I was told ?
