My Shack

Postby 2E0RFU » Mon May 12, 2014 9:06 pm

Thought I would post a few pics of my shack to introduce myself to the forum.

I am much more of a tinkerer than a talker but I love to listen, hence the shortage of transmitting radios in the shack, I do have some handhelds which I use as VHF & UHF is most interesting to me.

I dont have much spare space in the house so my shack is under the stairs Harry Potter style.

Tower of resonably well sorted electronic parts, I am adicted to aliexpress, why order 1 resistor when you need one, when 1000 will do. Plus you can see the chassis of one of the robots I am working on at the moment.

Nice 22 inch monitor, weather station and fan make up the middle shelf, with a cobbled together TV Pong that I built when I could not sleep one night.

The action shelf, 2 x raspberry pi's act as the shack pc, with a number of arduino and clones connected for tinkering, the wooden case is empty but normally has an arduino in it. Cheap 13.8v PSU on the left and ATU, SWR Meter, Morse Practise Buzzer and 40m Sudden Reciever make up the pile on the right.

Work area is small but is great for soldering using the vice, the Czech Morse Key and the homebrew paddle are encouragment rather than use as I do not know my code yet.

Finally the little purple PCBs are for a something I disigned and hope to write up soon.

Anyway thats my shack
