What batteries do you use in the Alinco?? Mine use to eat batteries before they brought out hi capacity rechargeables.
Also did you have yours before the days of the Police going digital?? The descrambler worked a treat on their scrambling system.
I also have a UV-3, but mine is badged slightly differently.

Alinco uses 4 x AA batteries, its fantastic on batteries :) I didnt have it before they went digital either :( which is a shame!

They must have changed that to alter the battery problem then, as mine only uses 3 AA's & unless I use 2300 NiNH's or better, I only get a few hours listening between charges, so it was no good for taking on weekend tramps in the truck.

Do you mean DJ-X3?

Sadly they don't go for as much as I think they are worth, some sellers are selling them new at around £149 like Moonraker here but Maplins are now selling them for £49.99 new here and I've noticed them going second hand on ebay for as little as £20-40.

Personally I would keep it as they are worth more then what they go for second hand on ebay unless you could find a private buyer.
