CC8200 Serial Port Adaptor Driver for older AOR8200 Mk3

Postby merryterry » Fri Sep 02, 2016 2:15 pm

I have an older AOR8200 Mk3 and originally added the cc8200 serial port adaptor to connect to, my then, XP computer, where there was a serial port. My new Windows 10 Laptop does not have a serial port. I bought a USB-serial adaptor. Unfortunately I have lost the driver for the original Serial Port Adaptor (CC8200). I have tried everywhere to find one including the Manufacturer, (no reply from them so I am not dealing with them again).

Does anyone have the driver software for the old serial adaptor?

The CC8200 wouldn't need a driver - it's just shifting levels from TTL to RS232.

The driver you'd need would be for the USB device you are now putting between the computer and CC8200.

Thanks for your reply milly.
I have the driver for the USB-Serial Adaptor and according do device manager it is working OK.
I still cannot run any of the computer control software on the market.
I am sure I have seen the cc8200 advertised in the past complete with software.
I have spent hours trying to connect to my Windows10 laptop.
Have you any more suggestions?

Regards

It may well have been advertised with 'software' but that would not have been a driver.

I imagine most software written back then was using interupts. I doubt if that will work with an emulated comm port.

Never tried to use any old software like that on a more modern version of Windows....the computing requirements are minimal so I use a bunch of very old laptops so can't really help.
