Thanks for the welcome.
I'm not with Raynet or 4x4 rescue but may consider it in the future. I have rescued quite a few people so far (one woman upside down, and a JCB, but mostly white vans) and people seem to expect it of you if you are in a land rover for some reason, so I carry the equipment in winter.

I can honestly say I've built what I drive because she was a rescued FFR 1968 2A, so would like to put the rack back in and clip a PRC320 in there for work on HF, but these were never designed for scanning. This is where the waterfall display with the SDR comes in useful, so aim to get that working mobile on a tablet if I can find a cheap Android that is robust enough.

Have to get my intermediate before all that though because I'm on a 10W limit, and the 320 is 30W.

Hi all
Paul from Milton Keynes
Just getting into the hobby (obsession ) not really interested in tx(at the moment) but more just for the lurk and listen side of things..
I'm only really interested in handhelds out and about and scanning the air traffic.
Got to say the forum looks nice and easy to navigate and seems very informative with helpful answers to questions..
Let's hope it's that helpful when I start asking some noon questions.
I will try to search for the forum for answers answers before I post the question
