Hello Everyone,

After using scanners years ago (Yupituru MTV 5000 , UBC60XLT)
I now bought a UBC125XLT,I am using it mostly for the Airband and
Amateur bands because much is digital now.

I found some good software mostly window to setup
this scanner.

I didn't find software for my phone or tab yet, so I
am now writing an app for Android to control the UBC125XLT.
The App is currently still experimental but seems stable.

Maybe someone wants to try it ,it's on the Android play store:
search for RadioScanUBC125.

Welcome to the Forum.

The Android app sounds interesting. You could link it to the phones GPS to select the scanning database., so rather than take one database out & put another in manually as you move around, the app could connect you to the appropriate database. That would save having more stations programmed into the scanner than is needed at any one time.

Welcome Andy1t72

you have made a good choice with the UBC125xlt it will teach you a lot about scanning as it has most of the features of the top scanners . If you want a list of frequencies for heathrow you have plenty to choose from, not just those in the Civil Airband , as there are many users of PMR and PBR at heathrow as well as the UHF frequencies in use by the airport. If you get a copy of kimmys UK scanning list ( see bottom of the page ) you can search the cd for heathrow and will find a great number of channels to program into your scanner . They are too numerous to list in a single post If you search through the forum I am sure you will find lots of posts on heathrow frequencies.

PMR is Private Mobile radio and PBR is private business radio

PMR can manifest itself as the like of CB and 446Mhz( licence free) radio and licenced amateurs

PBR is most other forms of Business/commercial communication such as taxi`s, skip companies and the like
