It takes some time to charge the 125XLT with the adaptor. Thats because it's a time charger and not a "power" charger. That means there is a loading time programmed in the scanner. I don't know the time exactly but I think it was about 14 hours or something like that.

As pointed out the charging is "time" set process.

The settable times are 1 to 14 hours.

To set charge time:

Use Scan125 Control Program

OR

On scanner press keys "Function" then "Power" then scroll to "Set Charge Time" :shocker:

Hi,from personal experience,I never use onboard charging with my 125,and find that a wall charger is much better at the job.The supplied batteries are good enough, but I use Energizer 2300 mAh as a spare set.Did you know that you can run the scanner on mains power using the usb lead for home listening over a long period?
I do that so the backlight can be set to"on with squelch".Doing that on batteries soon zaps them.I've recently bought some 2500 mAh ones to use all day at an event next weekend, take a look at the 7dayshop website for those.(cheaper than a certain online auction site, etc)

Thank you all for your replies. The receiver finally charged the batteries, but going to take on board the advice.

Happy scanning
