Ok, here's what I think you saw, and what's actually going on....

At 1009 UTC, indeed CLAW41 appears on FR24 just north of Lakenheath, in the climb. FR24 shows point of departure at Pretoria.

At 1123 UTC he looks like he's completed his sortie, is at 2600ft and all the indications are that he's RTB Lakenheath.

But why would FR24 show Pretoria as point of departure? And why does CLAW41 magically appear for the first time on FR24 at 1009, and not be seen on the c. 8000 mile transit flight from South Africa, without an apparent need for a fuel stop etc? The clue is in the top left corner: Invalid Transponder Code. The Mode-S code isn't actually assigned to any aircraft; that's not uncommon for Mil a/c. Somewhere in the FR24 database it's falsely linked it to Pretoria. I'd bet my house on it being an F15E out of Lakenheath.

It happens quite often, and more often that it probably should with FR24. Here's an S76 just this morning.....

....but is it M-ONTY an S76, an AAC Gazelle reg ZB692, or is it a Monarch A321 Flight number ZB692. Well if it's the latter, then Manchester has moved overnight into the Irish Sea close to the IOM, and the passengers are in for an exciting flight at 3200ft, albeit a long one to cover the 980 miles at 185knots. Turns out it's actually M-ONTY the S76, but once again highlights that FR24 gets it wrong again on tie up with the flight number/flight details.

A better site such as http://signup.360radar.co.uk/ gets it right most of the time.....

Thats it, thanks..And looking at your post, CLAW41 first appears to be flying an angular route over the Wash bombing range area.


Yet later it's a circular route only over the Wash bombing range area...

Just to add. I have Silver Membership, but could not find that despite looking.
Currently it's Apollo11 over that area..
