Radio User magazine

It seems to me that since the change of publisher and with the new editor Radio User is no longer the magazine it used to be.
First Pat Carty and Military Matters disappeared from its pages and now in the latest February issue Godfrey Manning and his Sky High column have gone (and not willingly either, that was an enforced decision on GM by the new editor). Much of interest to the airband listener is no longer included!

I've never heard of it, so went to their website to have a look, but although you can buy it, you can't even read a page or two to see if it's the kind of mag you might like. I'm not paying four quid to skim through stuff that's no a good match to me - and you cannot tell from the front cover. It has to remain a mystery!

Via thier site you can buy an old issues in digital format from October, Novevember or December for 99p each.

It's a good mag or use to be. It covers every thing from amateur radio to scanning, SWL & CB. It is the sister mag to Practical Wireless.
They were taken over a few months ago & they said they were going to also sell digital copies. So no printing costs, no distribution costs & no profit for wholesalers or shops. But they still want the same price for each issue!!!
I'll stick with a very occasional real world copy.

Edited to add the offer is not via their website, but via PocketMags..sorry.

I just ordered February's issue via NewsStand for the 1st time in a long time and now you tell me Godfrey's column is no longer in it? Well, that's just great. It was one of the columns i bought it for as I'm heavily into airband.Ahh nuts!

Edit: Just to say that the mag has just dropped thru the door and Godfrey's last column is in it.Glad to have caught that, but,as you say,it's not the same mag that it used to be,so I don't know if I'll continue to get it now.

Agree with the previous comments. Radio User mag is now of little interest to me but I was just directed to bookmark a new website, see link.
Does anyone have any further info on this proposed site?

I have just done some more googling & the address given is not a private home address as it presents as. It's either a mailing address or a multi business base. And one of the business who use this address is Warners Group Publications plc who publishes PW & Radio User.
So maybe they are closing down one or both of the others? As surely the market will not sustain a third magazine?
