Intermediate NoVs to be withdrawn. NOT.

Postby m0lsx » Sun Jul 26, 2015 5:45 pm

The Ofcom website says:

In the past, the spectrum regulator permitted the variation of Intermediate licences. We are phasing that out. We shall not grant new variations to Intermediate licensees and existing variations will not be renewed when they expire. This will return us to the position where only Full licensees enjoy these privileges. This typically involves variations for repeaters and internet gateways.

Having read the post, the subject needs to be amended as they are not being withdrawn - just phased out - no new applications or renewals.

That is what will be happening yes. But it is happening because they have withdrawn the right for intermediates to hold a NOV.

It looks like it is all change again..
After the clarification of policy released by OFCOM on the 21st July in which they seemingly removed access to all NOVs (except special celebrations) from all but Full License Holders, OFCOM have released a further clarification and update

http://licensing.ofcom.org.uk/radiocomm ... aq/1498947

Once again Intermediate License Holders will be able to apply for a NOV for a Simplex Gateway.
