Is there any chance of a new and updated noobies guide for those that use the RTL dongle and DSD+ as some of the information is different?

I have the software decoding DMR but this appears to be only DMR data or encrypted of which I am not sure how to tell?
Also is there any way to mute the date noise of the DMR so that I would only hear the voices?
I am relatively new to this DSD software (1day and counting :dizzy: ) and up to this point I think I am on the right path but still need that little extra guidance to smooth out the ripples. The frequencies in question are located around the 160MHz range.
I have to admit I am not even sure that there is much digital communications available for me in my location, which is around 8 miles line of sight away from the city of Carlisle.

Hi guys,
Sorry but very new to using Command Prompt and am unable to sort out why I cannot run the dsd-1.6.0 software.
I have downloaded the appropriate files to my Desktop and opened the dsd file. I can click on bats and then Mototrbo.bat but get the error message "windows cannot find dsd"
Any help will be much appreciated.

Try this...

C:\Users\HARVEY>cd desktop

C:\Users\HARVEY\Desktop>cd dsd

C:\Users\HARVEY\Desktop\dsd1.6

If the DSD program that is in your dsd1.6 folder is called "dsd1.6" then that should start it up.

Thanks but no joy.
The folder is indeed named dsd-1.6.0

It is almost as if there is no entry in the register to tell windows where to go but hey I am not that PC literate.

Thanks for the replies.

No I do not have teamviewer installed but have been able to move things forward somewhat.

I found a better download containing a dsd.exe file, which got the software running, however there appears to be a problem with my PC line input software. I was able to get the decoder running and decoding though not perfectly but with good volume from the PC speakers but now have almost zero volume and no decoding. Does not appear to be a connection problem.
Will return to it tomorrow with a fresh approach.

at least your getting somewhere now thats the man thing and you prob need to download virtual audio cable to port the audio into dsd or the other thing that i prefer is to download dsdplus instead ;)

Just got my dsd sdr setup running yesterday but for the guys that have done the setup right and got everything d/l correctly and such and it still doesnt work you may not have enough processing power to run dsd and sdr together. This was the case for me i tried for hours and hours to get it to work on my laptop different audio levels and such and it was decoding on inverted and working fine but the decode rate sucked and it was just scrambling for voice but then i took it and threw it on my desktop and what a difference it made took a few min to get it all d/l and setup but once i did wow it came to life. The decode rate was perfect no = marks hardly.I want to thank the op for starting this thread it helped me out alot and kept me from getting so frustrated that i didnt quit on this very nice program.
