I use my Ft60 to scan round what is in it, I just wondered if the 380 did the same, I assumed it would, rather than just sit on one channel.

It does scan, but what it scans has to be set up as a separate process - there's a separate scan menu. You put certain groups or individual IDs in it. I guess this is the only way, because with the huge number of things in the codeplug people use on the amateur bands, you need to be selective. The old kind of scan memories system works only when you have a smaller number of channels. once you get above 100 or so, you spend more time locking annoying channels out than you do listening - and of course rarely put them back!
