Hi Guys
Had the TRX-1 for couple of weeks - working well after figuring out the "Whistler" way of scanning...bit of help please...
I have programmed into the radio 453.02500 which is my local shopwatch and all is good, however when near my work location there is another user of dmr on the same freq but audio seems inverted ? Big signal and radio shows slot, colour code etc but audio definitely seems inverted...any ideas ?

Thanks in advance
Kevin

As I understand it DMR has an optional encryption feature which a few UK users are starting to use.
Maybe that's what you hear.
If it is encryption it's not easy to decode as the key is a long binary number.
I don't know any more info I'm afraid.

Hi db13,
Thanks for quick reply - yep thats the only thing I can think of. I wasn't sure if the TRX-1 had an "inversion" button - i know that when decoding dmr via dsd and laptop I could change from + to - to decode.....I will keep trying.
I believe the TRX-1 displays and E symbol if encrypted so will have to check when I get chance.

Appreciate the response. Thanks

Kevin,

Could you keep us updated on your progress please? I'm looking to buy a TRX-1 and are trying to do as much homework as possible before doing so.

Are you from the UK?
Was the TRX-1 brought from the UK and does it have a UK database?
Can you enter your own search range manually and type in frequencies manually or does it all have to be done via computer?

The things putting me off are that I've only ever had analogue scanners so DMR is something new and I have little experience and I don't own a computer, just tablet and iPhone.

If you would be kind enough to keep me in the loop with how your getting on I'd be very grateful DM me if you want.

Thank you and happy scanning!

As I understand it the only real difference between the cheaper WS1088 and the TRX-1 is that the TRX-1 does NXDN.

Is NXDN actually used in the UK?

A number of analogue VHF Community Base Station providers have migrated their users to NXDN using Kenwood kit. Due to encryption being offered at little or no cost a number of users have taken this up..
For some idea of who Kenwood have supplied check out their sales news..

Hi Metradio,
Quick question regarding NXDN, is this now an available upgrade for the TRX-1 ?
Since getting my TRX-1 a few months back I haven't really used it much due to work but have some time off shortly to explore !
Have I been a bit slow and missed the update for NXDN ?
Thanks in advance
Kevin
PS Happy New Year !!
