AOR DV1 and TETRA

A question for anyone who has an AOR DV1.

I understand that it will handle any unencrypted direct-mode (DMO) transmissions.

What does it do when you search the very busy Airwave TMO/AGA band (390.1625-394.9875 MHz)?

Does it identify strong signals as "TETRA"?
Does it show the site ID? (There must be some unencrypted data, otherwise users who don't use encryption wouldn't be able to find the system)
Does it identify them as something else?
Does it even detect them?

It picks them up and shows the signal strength but that's about it. No info whatsoever

And I am yet to find a DMO user. If it wasn't for my mate who has a tetra radio in DMO I would never have had one tetra decode from the DV1. At least I know DMO works but it would be nice to find an actual real world user!

There are a few videos on you tube showing people using TETRA in DMO I am guessing the reason why we dont hear them is because these radios are very low on the output.
1 watt I think so you would have to be pretty close to hear them.

Yes I think that is more closer to the truth than a watt. Whenever I measure a so called 5 watt radio they always are putting out more like an average of 4 watt and mostly below. I have managed to find a Tetra DMO user very close to my home. Around 40 meters over a km to be precise so very close. I have antennas on my roof and the basement but can never get a decode from them at home. At their car park they are very clear, but when we drive away and turn onto the main road as soon as we turn the first corner (around 150 meters away) they start to break up on my DV-1 in the car and that is with a VHF/UHF mag-mount on the car. They do use them inside the building and not outside so they seem ideal to use in a one building environment and even more secure as the signal does not travel far away from their own building.

Good for them, bad for me and other would-be listeners. I can get 446 users on half a watt from miles away at home though. Is 1 watt a set limit on Tetra DMO?

Spec is < 1 watt, but they are also not tuned for max out on DMO..

There's a few of the 'walty' private event medical / first aid providers using tetra handsets on dmo, no other reason than to 'look cool'.
