TK-3401D

Postby tegsy1 » Mon Nov 13, 2017 11:10 am

Morning All, I have just purchased the above radio. I am finding it hard to understand the programming guide in the user manual. I have tried to download the programmable software for the radio but have had no success. I went to the Kenwood site but can find nothing there regarding the software. Does anyone know where to find this elusive program? Any help greatly appreciated.

Take a look at this - https://hamfiles.co.uk/index.php?page=d ... 2Fkpg-171d
It looks compatible but you will have to create an account to log in and download.

You'll have to get used to that, I'm afraid - however, if you have the patience to start swapping drivers - as in installing a legacy driver over the modern one that's in the Windows 10 tables, you can make it work (not tried it with this radio, but the Kenwood Nexedge ones) and as long as you don't remove the USB cable it's fine. If you restart the computer or remove the cable, next time you plug in, it restores the non-working one!

If you read down the comments below the download you will find another user saying it works fine - so it's worth doing. If you have a genuine programming cable you might even find it has the latest prolific chip in it! Give it a go and see.
