BNC Plugs that work like TV UHF aerial ones!

Postby essexRXer » Sun Nov 06, 2016 9:43 am

Hi All,

I have recently upgraded my coax to one of my antennas in the loft. I used Satellite coax with some heavy shielding that is performing really well. Although it is at 75 ohm it works for RX effectively and is heavily shielded.

One knock on from this is that I have no plugs with a wide enough arbour to fit, its really stiff cable. At the moment I am using a BNC phono adapter and stripping the coax to fit it and applying generous amounts of electrical tape so that the braid is fixed to the outer shield of the plug, does the trick but will not tolerate chopping over to often.

However I have found the solution and its coming from China! These plugs are a hybrid of the tv plug, and they are easy to fix. Anyone else seen these and used them before?

They look great. Perfect for RX & brilliant for those of us, who dislike the normal crimp plugs.

Agree 100% with you both.

I will post pics and an update when the slow boat moors up

I can't imagine that I will need all 10 either, might be able keep some to help others out.

*** Update ***

Well that boat from China was VERY slow haha I got the plugs this week and am pleased on how well they perform. I have used them on the thickest and thinest coax with no problems
