I have recently upgraded my coax to one of my antennas in the loft. I used Satellite coax with some heavy shielding that is performing really well. Although it is at 75 ohm it works for RX effectively and is heavily shielded.
One knock on from this is that I have no plugs with a wide enough arbour to fit, its really stiff cable. At the moment I am using a BNC phono adapter and stripping the coax to fit it and applying generous amounts of electrical tape so that the braid is fixed to the outer shield of the plug, does the trick but will not tolerate chopping over to often.
However I have found the solution and its coming from China! These plugs are a hybrid of the tv plug, and they are easy to fix. Anyone else seen these and used them before?http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291800541272? ... EBIDX%3AIT
