Did everyones Antennas survive?

Postby m0lsx » Thu Feb 23, 2017 10:27 pm

I am lucky when it comes to wind, I live in a bit of a hole & miss the worst of the wind as a result. But at Lunchtime or early afternoon. I heard a massive noise outside, could not see anything making it, so went out, only to realise the noise was the wind in the trees over the road.
My antennas survived here, but I did see them getting a fair battering.
How are everyone else's antennas? That seemed like the strongest wind for a long long time.

I had problems, My main HF wires snapped, My quad band white coliners both snapped at the base.My 18 foot vertical broke. So this morning I have ordered another 50 meters of hard drawn copper wire £30 ebay.Shortly I will start removing old aerial parts...... So I'm a bit pissed off. On each end of my house I have a 20 foot mast. My main wire aerial comes from a tree out in the field to a the 20 foot across roof to the other 20 foot mast and out to another tree.On top of the 20 footers was the 2 white colinerers. The 18 foot aerial of the side.... I have an Idea I think on each end of the Doublet I will put add a spring to take up movment.
