Andrew - "have we got them in size 10" isn't the most exciting use of radio, and listening to supermarkets means those channels will not be a must have for me - ever.

Man overheard in pub "Guess what I heard today? Tesco have no chips in the store room, and aisle 10 had a spillage at 13:02 this afternoon"

You are joking, right? Please say yes - or the hobby is doomed.

Whilst none of Andrew's must haves are in any radio I own I think it's a bit harsh to say he must be joking or that it means the hobby is doomed.

Surely part of the appeal of radio as a hobby is it's breadth and variety?

There was a time when the hobby was doomed (supposedly) because trunked systems were becoming commonplace, then doomed when the emergency services were making their communications more secure, then there was the time it was doomed because everyone is going 'digital'.

....There are more scanner users now than at any time in the past due to the range of models at a range of price points rather than all being jolly expensive.

So, not for me thanks Andrew but well done for posting something rather than just holding out the begging bowl which seems to be the other 'must have accessory' for scanner users nowadays.

It was the 'begging bowl' comments from Nighthawk999 in another thread that made me post what I did. I copied and pasted off my Freescan file which took a lot of deleting of cells with information not needed, only to be criticised. I don't have a lot of use for others 'interesting' finds, but I don't hit the keyboard and criticise them for it.

Direct copying and pasting brings out this before deletions.

I find this post really useful only cause hidden in this area I've found other users especially on the digital side but mainly its been construction workers and events etc but still as Andrew says these are all still used and confirmed except for a lot of supermarkets users are going the Bluetooth and 2.4 ghz route these days which will be another scanner listening killer and the most annoying thing is when you have Asian or polish workers and they talk over the radio to each other in there own language and I can't understand a word , that really annoys me :)

Also its good for users who aren't sure what they have picked up on analogue and this will help them fill in the blanks especially with the tones they used .

I always find it interesting seeing the diversity of people who use licence free 446 & the general licence.

Interested by those radio mic channels - channel 70 is so small that most manufacturers only fit 4 channels in that band, and even Sennheiser can fit in 5 - Unusual somebody is trying to use that many, must work dreadfully badly!
Here are the Sennheiser channels in my hire rack - they're in use all over the country - especially in theatres, and touring venues
