I don't know where you two get your information from
The TRX1 has coverage of 70-88MHz

If I was wrong and misled anyone then my apologies. My information came from Nevada - for the TRX1 their website says -

The frequency coverage is:
25-54, 108-136.99, 137-174, 216-512, 764-781.99, 791-798.99, 806-960 and 1240-1300 MHz.

That was a lazy dealer, the Whistler UK bandplan was altered a few months ago.

For me the main reason was frequency coverage which is continuous on the 3600 but not on the Whistler (eg TRX models do not have low band VHF 70-88 mhz) :smiles:

To be honest there is little in that range worth listening to, either here (West Mids) nor anywhere else in the UK AFAIK. It is massively under-utilized.
I reserve the right to ignore people who have made no attempt to the read the manual, and expect others to do it for them.

lol

ermm chose the uniden as I heard the Whistler was very complicated, if its more complicated than he uniden I have no idea how.
My head is battered.

I have used sentinel and created a profile, sets tuff like backlight contracts beep volume.
I have the usa and canada database and cannot get rid of them grerr

I have added my long and lat and got my location in as I thought that would then let me remove the usa and canada.. ermm nope lol

I added a new fav list for ncle airport but damned if I can see where I add the actual bloody frequency in sentinel.
Oh I have managed to download the marine band .hpe file from radio reference and import that :D

No doubt I will come to love it but why the hell do they make it so complicated?

It's a form of torture mate

I am now scanning Marine Band so happy LOL small steps, if only I had a huge database .hpe file I could just send would be very nice :D

I can manually input a new frequency but would be so painful to have to do that to enter everything I want in, but I just cannot work out how to do it in sentinel

Right I am now not sure its on the actual scanner as I can't see it but it is in sentinel so surely when I write to scanner it is going on there ? I cannot delete it from Sentinel

I have recently bought a Uniden UBCD3600XLT After much thought about whether to buy the Uniden or Whsitler TX1, What swayed me to the Uniden was the full frequency coverage, and flexibility in reception modes and step size across the frequency range (I spend a great deal of time abroad with my scanner and this means I should always be able to enter the step and mode I want relative to the frequency) .I am also familiar with and a fan of Unidens Close Call feature, which the 3600 has.
I am still learning, but very pleased so far, the only thing I can`t figure out yet is with DMR reception how do you (if actually possible?) enter a Talk group when storing a frequency?,I can see quite clearly how to store the colour code, but if a frequency has more than one TG on the frequency with the same CC how is it possible to store individual TGs to that frequency so as to monitor specific or eliminate paticular TGs? At present when the frequency is monitored, either in a memory or during a search any TG on that frequency with that CC will be heard. Locally there is an interesting to me, but fairly interment user that is on the same frequency and colour code as a local major hospital porters frequency which is extremely busy 24/7 so that will often stop the scan when I don`t want to listen to it, and "Avoiding" it ,ie locking out in the Uniden 3600 will also lock out the other user on the same frequency,I thought it would be possible to perhaps store the frequency twice, with different TGs, but this I can`t fathom out.
