search for butel software online it is much easier to use than sentinel and you can use it free for a month.

by downloading and using it you can get rid of anything installed on the 3600, one thing if you do use the butel then once you have sorted out any frequencies make sure to also save as then the program will shut down properly.

when i got my 3600 i only saw one copy of the sentinel program.

i have done lots of head banging with this radio but it becomes easier over time.

I am getting there slowly but surely, leaving digital listening to scanning ranges and finding frequencies that way. But I did create a fav list for shop and pub watch.

So many features that i don't get like discovery

I am more up with the TRX1 than the 3600 in this respect, but I am sure you can save multiple channels with copies of the same frequency and Colour Code but with different Talkgroup ID's..

On a side note, to discover DMR frequencies the Close Call misses quite a lot, Uniden tell me that the Close Call was not designed for DMR, the Search option works OK though..

My close call worked well yesterday picking up DMR for local busses when I was out on a wander

I found out when I first got the 3600, I put the TX1 and the 3600 on to compare them and found out the 3600 missed loads of DMR on close call and had problems in search mode on DMR simplex.. emailed the European distributer with the complaints, they explained that due to the way close call works it will not always capture DMR.
With regards to problems in simplex, they suggest:

"Dear Mike
Uniden answer:
In case of simplex DMR, please adjust to work well with digital threshold mode and modulation like below.
Digital threshold mode: manual
Threshold value: 5 to 8, depend on environment
Modulation: FM
Please check and we look forward to receive your comments"

I found it made little or no difference

skirge just been thinking you say that there was an update to the 3600, mine showed latest version no updates

by the off chance from your first post and with you now having the american database it sounds like the european firmware has been over written by the usa one when you first launched sentinel usa version, if that is the case then i am not sure how it would be corrected.

it would explain why your radio has now got the usa database in it.

A daft question.

I imported a Uniden BCD436 with the DMR upgrade shortly after it became available. Need a second DMR scanner. One to scan and one to search.

Lots of freqs entered in the 436 so anybody know if the memory card from the 436 is compatable with or will talk to the 3600?

I am now scanning Marine Band so happy LOL small steps, if only I had a huge database .hpe file I could just send would be very nice :D

I can manually input a new frequency but would be so painful to have to do that to enter everything I want in, but I just cannot work out how to do it in sentinel

You can just copy and paste from a spreadsheet if you format everything properly.

e.g. This is Tab Separated version:

406 - 406 NFM Search Military Off 30sec Tone=1 / Volume=Auto Green / Fast Blink 0 None Off
406.0125 - 406.0125 NFM Search Military Off 30sec Tone=1 / Volume=Auto Green / Fast Blink 0 None Off
406.025 - 406.025 NFM Search Military Off 30sec Tone=1 / Volume=Auto Green / Fast Blink 0 None Off
406.0375 - 406.0375 NFM Search Military Off 30sec Tone=1 / Volume=Auto Green / Fast Blink 0 None Off
406.05 - 406.05 NFM Search Military Off 30sec Tone=1 / Volume=Auto Green / Fast Blink 0 None Off
I reserve the right to ignore people who have made no attempt to the read the manual, and expect others to do it for them.

I had installed the setup from the card but it had installed both USA and Eiropean versions, I was opening the wrong one, my scanner is now fully programmed and working superbly :D

I wonder how much DMR I am missing on close call as again today and yesterday it picked up busses and shop watch frequencies fine.

Hopefully not that much, you can only tell when you have another scanner to compare..
