What evidence is there of any P25 systems in London?
P25 control channels transmit continuously, so they are easy to find.

The only ones I know of in the UK are at USAF ("RAF") bases, and the Army on Salisbury Plain.

I am reminded of the last visit of Obama to London, when clueless journalists reported that the USAF V22 Ospreys were used by "the SAS".
As using binoculars to identify the markings as USAF was too much like hard work.
I reserve the right to ignore people who have made no attempt to the read the manual, and expect others to do it for them.

I have seen V22 Ospreys used locally by the UK military. I did not see the markings on the aircraft, but the radio traffic was definitely Army & not RAF or USAF.

If you can find it do a search on "SURBURBAN" :mrcool:

I think if it were a comms fit, you would expect to see this antenna arrangement on all SEG vehicles, not least those that travel in convoy with the principal.

The principals vehicle may have additional interference built in to the bodywork that for adequate comms performance requires an antenna to be "outside the cage", so to speak.

I can think of one recent Prime Minister that has wished in hindsight that his vehicle was radio opaque.

How were you able to distinguish between Army and RAF?

They as good as identified themselves, I can't remember what exactly was said. But I do remember one comment between the Heli's referring to "The RAF." Which added to the other chatter, was as good as a conformation.
Sculthorpe is used by all sorts, as the base is not in use, other than for low level buzzing. It is used by both the British & the Americans.

One transmits from inside a tent, the other from inside a Holiday Inn :smiles:
