major SAR incident now in the Mourne Mountains

Postby JohnUK » Wed Aug 02, 2017 2:45 pm

There is a major ongoing incident near me in the Mourne Mountains in Co. Down Northern Ireland. Reports indicate that between 40 and 70 army cadets aged 12 and 17 are in difficulties in the mountains. It is believed that a group of around 17 have become separated from the main group and are suffering from lower leg injuries. Coastguard rescue helicopters from Dublin, Prestwick and North Wales are on scene along with at least 10 ambulances, medical personnel, police and mountain rescue. Weather conditions have been poor here this morning with low temperatures, poor visibility and heavy rain.

From [sar-rescue] groups.

May be worth a listen on sar/bristow/polycon/mrt frequencies
