Hi All,

My friend wants a base scanner and has the choice of the above. Have to say i love my BCT15x but would welcome
members opinions on this. He will be using for air/marine/mil bands. Please base opinions on quality of receive etc?

Ok ... away you go!

There's no contest.
The BCT15X is a much newer and better scanner.
The 9000 does not have 6.25 nor 8.33 kHz steps.; and only has 500 channels - bizarrely arranged in blocks of 25; it has no close call; it can't do band 3 business radio.

The BCT15X has 9000 channels and you can pretty much arrange it as you like.
I reserve the right to ignore people who have made no attempt to the read the manual, and expect others to do it for them.

I am with Minus1, the two are not comparable.
There is nothing wrong with the 9000 & if it's on offer at a very good price, then it may be a good starting point. But the the 15X is a better radio, for a number of reasons & will probably not cost that much more secondhand, than the 9000.
