Ferret 8 antenna

An interesting antenna design I haven't seen before.
A fibreglass enclosed multi-band antenna covering 25 MHz to 1.8 GHz.
Might suit anyone needing a fairly inconspicuous external antenna as it has just the one vertical tube - though it is 8 feet tall :shocker:

I reserve the right to ignore people who have made no attempt to the read the manual, and expect others to do it for them.

The blurb slams other antenna designs pretty hard, has a big price tag, and yet provides no information on performance. If it's unity gain, then the "archaic discone" put down pretty hard would be better value for money. Some of the reviews are less than complementary. I suspect any antenna that costs professional money that has no polar diagrams or gain figures. It may well have a good VSWR on a certain frequency, but how deep are the between frequency nulls - little point in an antenna that is great at 465, but a bit of damp string at 435 or similar.

Good antennas have proper specs.

I am surprised that a nest of antennas that close together would work even semi efficiently. And a simple nest of VHF dipole can be very simply made for a few pounds using chocolate block & the natural shape of a loft.
