Midland portapak model 77-805 telescopic aerial.

Postby Joe74 » Tue Oct 11, 2016 12:57 pm

Hi all, was wondering if anybody on here would happen to know where I could find a replacement aerial for this CB model? I've searched everywhere on the web and have had no joy, any suggestions as to where I should begin to look would be appreciated. Thanks.

Have you asked at places like Knights Electron or Nevada? as dealers, they may know about the availability of parts. Also what connector is the antenna? Could you simply plug in an off the shelf alternative?

It has a standard SO-239 (?) socket and you can connect it to any antenna but I'm assuming the OP wants to use it portable

I looked at the manual & it seems to suggest the antenna is changeable, but does not say what the connector is. And the antenna is nothing special by the looks of it, so it should be replaceable, if the connector between the radio & antenna is nothing special too.

I had a rubber duck for mine, it was a genuine Midland one so had the right thread on it - don't consider getting one though, it was absolutely useless!

Yes mate I asked knights and they said they sold there last one ten years ago, I managed to find a rubber Duck that fits, but now I'm having problems with the speaker mic, has anyone on here got a spare that they would like to sell?
