SSTV on PMR?

Postby essexRXer » Wed Oct 26, 2016 7:18 pm

HI All,

I have just successfully sent my first SSTV image  , however because I am not an amateur I have experimented on PMR band CH7 from a Baofeng at 3W

Is this actually allowed?

As a bit of an update, I have been sent this blog that covers the same steps as what I have.

Time for a drive around for range testing

If you used a legal PMR radio, yes I think it would be legal as you are only sending audio tones over the air...

Thanks Mike,
That's great, I am using ch 7&8 because half term means the kids in our area use ch1&2.
I went out to range test and received perfect pictures from 5 miles. Will go further afield.

When I get my licence I would love to use a repeater.
