69 MHz Activity Session

Postby m0lsx » Tue Nov 15, 2016 12:27 pm

Another Southgate ARC news item..

The Delboy Blog reports that Swedish 69 MHz CB users have an activity session from 2000-2200 GMT on the 1st Friday of each month

Sweden is possibly unique in having a VHF CB allocation at 69 MHz. Calling generally takes place on 69.1875 MHz.

Full details of the 69 MHz channels are given at

A bit of dodgy Google translation later would appear to show that there are 10 channels in the 69Mhz band spaced in a similar way to the PMR446 band. Power output appears to be 5 watts with base and handheld radios allowed.

Co-incidnetally, 69.1625 is supposedly used for PMSE in the UK, though I've not personally heard anything.

Also the 4m amateur band extends down to 69.95 MHz in the Faroe Islands.
I reserve the right to ignore people who have made no attempt to the read the manual, and expect others to do it for them.
