Hi folks
I'm sorry if this question has been asked before -- there is some stuff on this forum that seems related, but I can't make sense of it.
My new CB radio has various band settings, including "UK", "EU", and "CE". I'm guessing the last is CEPT, but I'm not sure. It also has an AM-FM switch. I'm trying to work out what to set it to, to communicate with a bunch of people who bought their CBs from car boot sales, etc. When I asked whether we should be using UK or CEPT frequencies, I just got blank looks. The most technical response I got was "um... think it's FM. Not sure, really." I don't think anybody else even realized that there is more than one kind of CB radio standard.
Now, I've been told that CB radios are supposed to carry markings indicating the standard they conform to: CB27/81, PR27/GB, etc. My question is: is there a chart or table somewhere, that indicates what actual channel frequencies and modulation types these markings correspond to?
Thanks,
Lars
