Moving to Sutton Surrey in a fortnight and was wondering what mode and frequency their shop watch is on. Should be able to receive on a handheld with a rubber duck antenna. The high street is about 100yds away.
Know more than I can disclose.

I'm visiting Runcorn and hearing a faint signal on 456.875, a tone of 218.1. It could be as far out as Leigh. I've tried the WTR, but it is throwing up two possibilities. Anybody in the area got any idea who it is?

Guys, quick question and my apologies but I'm a little confused with some frequencies I've found. I'll describe the sounds best I can and hopefully someone may be able to advise me? Send me a DM if this is the wrong thread.

So I live in Birmingham and have recently heard modulation on the Birmingham Retail Crime Operation channels. They are the old shop watch I believe.
I've heard radio test calls from shops within the city centre and Bull Ring asking for Street Watch, Camera Control and Shop Watch.

The frequencies sound digital however, I'm picking them up on my cheap but cheerful Baofeng UV-5R.

Specifically on 442.0125, I seem to be hearing the handheld side only and not the control room? It's weird as my undertandung is id be picking up the base as opposed to the handheld being so far away? Any thoughts? Could the base be digital but the handheld be on analogue?

Also, does anyone have the CTCSS or DCS codes for the six frequencies I've found that work?

I confirm 441.025 and 441.3375 as working also. Would someone be able to help me with what their actually using? During the transmission I have a pip like sound between base and handheld talking then, when they have both finished the carrier stays open for a few seconds then gives like a weird electronical sound before ending. It's a weird noise I can't really describe.

CTCSS or DCS codes would be useful. Thanks guys, looking forward to the responses.

Why do you need the tones you can listen to them without and only really need the tones if

a) you intend to transmit illegally or
b) if you want to only hear one or some of the users of the frequency

if its "a" you really need to think about the consequences

if its "b" you may be missing some transmissions
