Ok that's fine , If you can hear the voices on your Baofeng the channels are analogue and may have some audio tones .

There are not as far as I am aware any systems where they mix analogue for the remotes and digital for the control, another explanation may be that there are two separate systems using the same frequency , one digital and one analogue and you are hearing one side of each .

However looking on Kimmys the Birmingham shopwatch appears to be a semi duplex system so the control is on one frequency and the handhelds on another ie 442.0125 and 427.5125 which is why you are only hearing one side ( 441.025 and 426.525 are the frequencies for the retail crime ops)

in order to make sense of the conversations you will have to monitor both frequencies almost simultaneously and the easiest way to do that is to have two receivers

Chris, sorry to be a pain but I'm lost on the above...

Could you tell me the frequencies I should be listening to, listing them like:

Base 123.456 HH 123.457
Base 123.543 HH 123.754

That would be really helpful if you have the time as the ones in your previous reply have confused me around hearing only one side, I'm sure I'm programmed to the base channel?

Thank you.

Does anyone know if the Lancaster shops and pubs are still analogue? I'm on my way to Lancashire now, it will save a bit of searching. I'll see what else I can find while I'm there in the little time I have.

Possibly Oldham or Rochdale going by the list in here, very active tonight on 456.875 on 218.1. I just know the town has an Aldi, Asda and a Sainbury's in it. They were almost fighting for a space to talk over the air. I'm listening from Runcorn. The WTR site in being slower than a slow thing being really slow.
