Hi,

have the Bedford shop-watch frequencies been confirmed? i live near Bedford and have not yet heard anything on these frequencies, it may be me though! i will keep trying.

also FYI
Debenhams Store, Bedford
460.1000

this was for their warehouse they had in Bedford, they closed it down some years ago (my dad used to work there)

also Bedford does not have an ASDA store but in Kempston (a few miles west of Bedford) there is an ASDA distribution center so i am guessing these frequencies are for there.

sorry if you think this is rude, me correcting you on my first post and thanks if you can confirm about the shop-watch frequencies

Hi Aardvark and welcome to the forum :P

No I don't find it rude at all it's actually very helpful, if I have something wrong then it's nice to be told about it and I appreciate any corrections.

Hmm where should I start? Bedford Shopwatch have been having a bit of a shake-up lately so I'll start there...

Bedford Shopwatch is licensed on 456.3500 to Retail Radio Link, however it has been reported that it's not been used for some time (even though the license for it is still being paid so it's still available to them). The reason for this is that it's been taken over by the bedforbid, they use Mototrbo Digital so for those frequencies you will need to use DSD (have a look around the forum for info on that) to listen to them.

Me and my collegue are going to do some research and ring arounds about Bedford over the next couple of hours so I'll report back here shortly with an update, and thanx again for your input it's appreciated :P

OK, first of all the bedforbid frequencies listed are correct...

The Bedfordbid Company (Mototrbo)
TX: 453.0875 MHz
RX: 459.5875 MHz

The Bedfordbid Company
TX: 453.625 MHz
RX: 453.625 MHz

Your are 100% correct about Asda, it is licensed to Asda stores in Bedford which is why I listed it that way but on further research it is the distribution centre in Kempston (off Bedford Road)

More updates to follow...

Thanks for the update on Debenhams, The other frequency listed for Debenhams is correct, (461.4) it's allocated to the Bedford Store on High street (MK40 1ST)

The following car Parking Frequencies might also be usefull for you...

TX: 165.1875 MHz
RX: 169.9875 MHz

Karspace Management, BEDFORD
TX: 453.500 MHz

Wow thanks for your reply, some useful info there thanks.

before reading this post i was doing some research into DSD and i had made my mind up to mod my scanner for this very reason, just waiting on some parts to arrive to do this. in the mean time i have been listening to Milton keynes shopwatch but it not clear enough for me as i guess i am too far away.

Thanks again.

No problem, and when you start with DSD this guide is a great help... ;)

Also, initially I found the idea of doing a discriminator tap mod a bit dauniting but it was really easy and only took a few minutes, I did try skipping the disc mod step at first and used the speaker out and learned the long way that without it DSD just doesn't work as it needs the raw data.

i have found the mod instructions for both my scanners for the disc tap i have an old realistic pro 35 and a Aor AR-1000. i am guessing the Aor would be the better scanner to use for this, any advise?

as for me fit the mod it's this kind of thing i do for work so it won't be an issue for me.

Personally I would probably choose to do the disc mod on the realistic but it's your choice :P
