These radios seem expensive for what they are ?

If i bought say a baofeng and had a Simple UK light license could i use it for say 449.3125 or do i have to have type approved kit like these mitex radios for instance?

I have never personally heard of anyone being checked up on for use of UK general/light..So provided your use was not going to result in complaints & that your use is not in the same area all the time, I am not sure that it would make any real difference what the rules stated.
I know people who use the light/general frequencies with all sorts of equipment & have done so for years without issue.
And I also know that speaking to a friend who should know about the attitudes of those involved in enforcement, that he talks about does it draw attention to the ear?? By this he means small issues like a non approved radio, are not an issue if the conduct, frequency & signal strength all look right.
