Simple Site PMR licence.

A Church local to me & a Weatherspoons pub have these, so the frequencies are worth keeping an ear on.
This lience allows for mobile & base operation at a maximum ERP of 2 watts & with a maximum antenna height of 15 meters. Base stations are not permitted to directly communicate with other bases.
No mention is made of handheld radios, so presumably the watt limit also applies to all mobile radios.
Several frequencies within the 26mhz CB spectrum are licensed & no transmission of music is permitted.

2 Watts and 15m means that despite bases not being able to talk to bases, they would actually be quite able to cover a decent distance, wouldn't they? Hmmmmm

26 mhz with 2 watts erp would cover miles, especially to a mobile station.
I have worked America on 5 watts FM into an inefficient antenna & most of the CB'ers seem to use rubbish like the Antron. so a decent antenna would achieve a great deal on FM, yes.

Just to add. During WW2 the stay behind & fight to the death Auxillery Units who were to fight a guerilla war in the event of a German invasion were issued with radio sets that operated in the 48 to 65 MHz range with a power output of about 1.5 watts, these were fed into Coax that was incredibly high loss & then into concealed antennas that were inefficient.
The range was said to be "Normally up to 30 miles," but depending upon terrain one link was 64 miles. This was speech & thus AM.
2 watts erp on 49 mhz FM into an efficient antenna at 15 meters would thus give you a lot better range than the WW2 guys achieved.

My local Wetherspoons has these frequencies listed, but they are data bursts, not voice traffic. Some of the staff carry little square devices on their belts, but I'm not sure what they do.
