Not yet found time to sort, but my TRX-2 does a fine job of my NXDN radios, but at the moment will NOT work on my RT-82 doing DMR on the same channel - when this is fine to and from an MD-380. Not sure why yet - more investigation. Oddly, my analogue repeater in the lists comes up fine, but on auto, NXDN is not decoded on that frequency - lots more testing and trying I think!

Try in Search Mode, all modes should be decoded..
For a saved frequency, the digital mode will only be decoded by indicating in the programming the required mode - Auto does not work for digital modes..

I've discovered that in the limit search, ticking DMR, or the others makes that the exclusive mode, so to get it to stop on FM or DMR or the others, digital modes need to be unticked. A real shame the other search modes are not much use - it would be nice to be able to search a vhf and uhf band without wasting time on the mil air band!

You can, select limit search, enter Lo frequency, enter Hi frequency, save and away you go..

Yep - that's what I'm doing - those shortcuts you posted are handy, thanks.

I spent a bit of time on the radio over the weekend and came to a few conclusions.

Essentially - it's a good scanner, but so complicated, and not remotely suitable for novices!

The biggest complaint is how sensitive to is to car battery voltage dips when the starter engages. The starter on my van causes an instant reset, and of course a 30 second wait while it loads uo. If you have a car that stops the engine at every traffic light, that could be a real pain!

Very nice video, should be watched by all new potential purchasers..

Should be printed on the box..

Most of the points in the video are pertinent to the TRX-1 as well
The Uniden 3600 is even more complicated

I do understand that as they get more complicated, the menus get bigger and bigger, but it is easy to get lost. I didn't make a big thing in the video about mobile (actually, I edited it out) but using these mobile is a problem - maybe not for everyone, but the buttons are small and the display, while readable is always formatted the same - so you need to have a proper look to see where you are, then you can prod, and doing that while driving is tricky. I installed it in the end on the passenger side simply because I'm a passenger when I have time to fiddle, and while driving, it just scans.

What surprises me is that with so many products nowadays, there is an app so you can do things on a larger screen - but people don't do this for radios. This would make programming it so easy.

Oddly - the thing is still sitting here, antenna unconnected and it suddenly burst into life with a DMR signal from over a mile away. That's pretty impressive!

I loved the trx-2 especially the magnetic mount idea , I even made a l shaped bracket for the centre of my dashboard and it was just easily attached and removed when getting in and out of the car but what I didn't like was the soft push buttons , I prefer buttons when you push them they actually click :)

I did a deal for an aor-dv1 but I actually miss the old faithful trx-2 now so I might end up getting another .....
