AM = upper & lower sideband plus a carrier. As a general rule for radio amateurs. below 10 MHz = Lower sideband & above = upper sideband but the Military in general use upper sideband. On VHF & UHF other than radio amateurs no one uses SSB. On HF SSB is commonly used, other than by broadcasters who all use AM.
Thanks alan, I have just purchased a ranger cb radio, I wanted the USB frequencies so I can tune in, I had a list for all bands and frequencies but have misplaced it.
