Has started transmissions today from their new centre. The operators delivery is rather different to the Kinloss boys !

Is there still anything operating from RAF Kinloss ?

And can anyone tell me where the new base is ?

Kinloss is now just MOD. Think its re named Kinloss barracks now and home to REME. The Nimrods were last based there and were scrapped some years ago.

I'm hearing quite a bit more than I used to on 5680 than I used to here in N.Ireland.Tell you what though,I miss that guys Scottish accent.Theres a programme on in the mornings on BBC2 at the moment,'Countryside 999'.A lot of the footage relates to RN Rescue and you can hear the comms. with Kinloss clearly.

They still have that background noise in the transmission similar to Kinloss Rescue had (high mic gain?), I wonder if they are using the same equipment?

Quick question - dug out my HF radio, and with the pretty rotten ancient 20m dipole, it's just out of the noise. Is there enough activity to make getting a ladder out worthwhile?
