Welcome to the forum.

Have you seen https://ukradioscanning.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=39 :?:

What are you listening on :?: As not all receivers are as good as others, also it helps to know if you have SSB.

Nice radio, no limitations with that.
Most of the Military, Air Band etc frequencies will be USB. But the normal convention is LSB below 10MHz, USB above 10 MHz.
Both the military & radio amateurs use 5 MHz (60 meters.)
There are a few Echo Charlie (free radio) QSO bands around, the best known being 6.6 MHz (45 meters) & although these are not as busy as they were in the 70's & early 80's, they are still used, plus there are plenty of Free Radio broadcast stations around to listen to still, the easiest to listen to in the UK is probably Laser Hot Hits on 4029 & 5800khz. But Weekends, especially Sunday mornings, on 48 meters (say 6200 to 6400khz) is the best listening due to the numbers.
