pilots map...

This online map is well worth a look, if you zoom in on your local area, you can see all the local airstrips & by zooming in, you will also see the frequency used for most, but not for all airfields.

http://maps.openaip.net/?destination=ht ... penaip.net

This next link is from the same site & lists the frequencies for most airstrips as well a giving links for all the near by airfields. So used together, they provide a useful resource..

It strange, but none of the parachute drop zones are marked.

Great site, another one I use for finding localised airports and airfields (including RAF) is http://www.ourairports.com/countries/GB/ :walkietalkie:

Seems odd that there is no RAF Leeming mentioned on either of those maps that have been linked here.

but the frequencies are not within the military range, and instead seem to be in the civil range, and are totally different to the ones I got with the scanning directory from you guys.

They are more a general site and rely on members adding frequencies so they don't have it all, also you will find that although the UHF airband (225-400) is the Military Band you will also find military allocations and usage in the VHF civil band.

Here are the full UHF and VHF frequencies for RAF LEEMING (as listed in the uk scanning directory cd)...

I only had half of those, so do you guys travel up and down the country when people ask for personal lists? Also how do you know what name go with what frequency ?

I cant think how else you would compile a personal list for someone without actually being in there home town.

Thanks for the extra frequencies i'll be sure to add these and see if I pick anything up on them, much appreciated again!

No problem, as to your question along with many online and offline sources and databases etc. we have a close nit and dedicated main team (hams and swl listeners) who keep everything going and updated daily, two of which do a lot of travel, and then also a large member base (friends, members and people who have had the directory before) up and down the UK who submit frequencies to us who in return they get a free copy of the directory every month (this is open to all). We can also confirm a lot of frequencies like PMR/PBR with Ofcom WTR and civil air with NATS etc. etc. and have been doing it quite a few years now (some of us since before proma) so we're pretty well established :smiles:
