Slice of Pi mod for Gascop POCSAG paging project?

Postby aerol1 » Fri Jan 29, 2016 2:04 pm

Dear community,

I hope moderators will let me know if this section is inappropriate and move my post to the right place.

I'm rather keen on POCSAG paging and I'd like to build test paging transmitter instance using Paspberry Pi ->Slice of Pi mod -> Motorola GM300 pretty much following this manual: http://winpe.com/gascop/

I have no issues with software part but I definitely incompetent in Slice of Pi modding as I don't have any experience in building circuits.

So the part I'm struggling with is:

The keying is done using 8 GPIO pins on the RPi using the very cost effective 'Slice Of Pi' circuit board from
http://shop.ciseco.co.uk/slice-of-pi-ad ... pberry-pi/
The circuit diagram and pictures below shows how I did this.

The keying is done with the little FET on the left of the board, This board handles 2 transmitters.
The transistor, Scmitt trigger and presets are for turning the sound output of the RPi into TTL level data.
You can modulate your transmitter directly from the sound out I just preferred ensuring the data was good
and square.
I used 1206 surface mount resistors but standard through-hole resistors will fit just as well.

To be honest a dedicated circuit board would have been easier but I just couldn't be bothered laying one up.

I have obtained Slice of Pi board although I'm kind of scared to proceed with it and at the same time I want to move further to protocol itself in order to keep this project out of shelf.

Would someone from the UK will be interested in helping me with this Slice of Pi mod according to available information?
I can post you my Slice of Pi board and pay for all your efforts via PayPal or via bank transfer so you can send me ready piece back?

Please kindly PM me or respond in comments.

Many thanks!

I am not sure what you are wanting help with. What mods are you intending to make to the design??
Buy a database from Kimmy JS19 via http://ukscanningdirectory.co.uk/

Sorry I wasn't clear enough with my request - I'm looking for someone who can build described element using Slice of Pi board.
