Within 450-452.975 FM if from the good old days.
or within 460.5 - 460.75 NFM
Many prisons are on the list of Airwave users - so they may be entirely Airwave.
I reserve the right to ignore people who have made no attempt to the read the manual, and expect others to do it for them.

Where abouts are you...? It would help but there are only a handful of prisons still on analogue... most are tetra and some dmr.... there are some new analogue prison frequencies but they are for works or security.... and by security I dont mean screws

460.6875 467.1875 HMP Frankland last reported in 2015.Most likely DMR or may even be Tetra Airwave now.

My local one is Airwave, I couldn't speak for yours but I imagine with the nature of their business it's probably in their interests to make listening in as difficult as possible, even for seemingly routine traffic.

You're not planning a Breakout are you?
