Uniden xlt125- not connecting

Postby brimstone » Tue Apr 23, 2019 4:48 pm

Hi, my xlt 125, has stopped connecting to. Signals. It scans continuously, prior to this episode it was working fine.i had it connected to my diy dipole, made from piece of tv antenna co ax cable. Checked aerial connection, which seems ok, did a factory reset, and reprogrammed the banks, changed the batteries. There was one slightly audible contact, but less than 2sec, didn’t,t hold frequency.
Any thoughts on what may have happened?.

Does it work fine with the supplied antenna?
If so, there's may be a fault with the cable from your dipole.
I reserve the right to ignore people who have made no attempt to the read the manual, and expect others to do it for them.

Would also suggest doing a SEARCH scan. Also make sure the Squelch is turned down to minimum. You could have accidentally set the squelch setting to the maximum level so the scanner receiver will not kick in as expected.

Have tried various antenna, and checked squelch is on 2. I did a factory reset, changed batteries, checked continuity between aerial and circuit board. Still not receiving transmissions.

try listening to a Known active local frequency in the FM broadcast band if there is still no reception you may have a fault in the front end which could be as simple as a broken connection between the antenna socket and the pcb . this may have occurred when you connected the external antenna as the socket can be twisted if the bnc plug is turned too vigorously
