Covid differences to Airband traffic

Postby G4RMT » Sat Oct 17, 2020 10:19 pm

Airband monitoring is quite different now we have covid limiting activity. Commercial and private flying is operating quite differently in my part of the world. Norwich has so few movements it's quite funny to hear people moved to the tower frequency far further out than usual and being No.1 when there is still a fair way to run. Even private flying transits through the military zones seem easier to fit in. Norwich seems to be a huge parking area for loads of larger aircraft with nowhere to go!

Would be interested to know the number of flights in/out of LHR and LGW now, as compared before the COVID -19 pandemic!
I remember watching a documentary about LHR in which the number of flights was around 1350 per day.
Here in the southeast the skies are somewhat quiet.
