As far as I know the 125 does not have any ability to descramble anything.

Also I believe SRC on the screen of a 125 means Search.

Press "Srch" to start a Search
Press "Hold"
Now enter say 125.1250
Pres "Hold"

Display will show:

"Quick Search" with 125.1250 frequency below.

Hello, i'm compleatly new to radios. I've had a set of BinatoneTerrain 750's for a while now, simply used for communcation when out and about walking or playing airsoft. I've recently purchased a Baofeng GT-3TP, as we use Baofeng's as marshalls, and i've wanted my own for a while to help me get into basic radio commucnation. My Terrain 750's work on a set channel basis, from 1 to 8 with sub-channels 1 - 99. Can someome please explain to me what frequancy's thease channels are, so i can turn in my Baofeng to them? As i say, i a compleatly new to raido communcation, and would like to start off simple before i get into scanning etc.

Also, are there any frequancys which my Baofeng can pick up which people use for just talking etc. I've been scanning with it and i've mannaged to get onto a small shopping centers channel, but i didn't stay on it.

Thank you,
Lucas.

Your Binatones are on the PMR446 range, they are on a set of Licence Free freqancys that anybody can use. 16 Freqancys in total can be used for Analouge radio with a limit of 0.5watt. Most are using the Baofengs on them but the output above 0.5watt so technically not legal as such however nobody checks. If you Google PMR446 you should get more info.

"The Terrain 750 comes with 968 channels for maximum communication" (Binatone say 'channel combinations' which isn't quite as misleading as the advert).

It only has the original 8 PMR446 frequencies not the full 16 analogue allocation and these are listed in the manual (https://www.manualowl.com/m/Binatone/Te ... e=1#manual)

I'd suggest if you want to get intro basic radio communication then the Radio Society of Good Buddies Ltd will be glad to sell you a course (https://rsgb.org/main/clubs-training/fo ... oundation/).

Alternatively, stick to PMR446 where no-one really cares what you use/do/say (good thing about this is you won't have to listen to boring old farts waffling about their latest illness or asking for a radio check because they have changed their zumspot for a mega hat and don't know if they are getting out).
